I am eternally grateful Katherine was the one representing me

By Emily R.

I just finalized my divorce from my ex-husband and wanted to write a review about my experience with Katherine Provost, who was my attorney throughout the divorce process. I was referred to Katherine and Kainen Law group by my business attorney at one of the hardest times in my life, when I decided to divorce my husband of 8 years. In a fragile state, I had a very emotional consultation with Katherine and she basically set very clear expectations from the beginning on what would be happening in the days/months to come. As a business owner I was likely going to be the one paying my ex-husband money at the end of the divorce and ultimately I appreciated her honesty and transparency from the beginning. I filed in January and my divorce will be final this week after a settlement conference without going to trial, a very quick amount of time for a contested divorce. I never felt Katherine was out to get my money and I felt any and all of our communication was necessary and never a waste or drawn out. She is concise and to the point with her communication. I have learned a lot from the process and have Katherine to thank for much of that, she is a no-bull kind of lawyer and will put you in your place if you need to be. I now see the divorce process as a narrative, a picture that is painted throughout the months leading up to a settlement or trial. She helped me keep my emotions in check, something I can’t say the same for my ex. Although I know she has many clients and many court dates I always felt she was prepared and knowledgeable about my specific divorce whenever we went in front of the judge. I walked away from my divorce with peace, dignity, and my head held high-I also am so grateful I didn’t end up having to go to trial. Throughout the process I always felt informed and cared for, I didn’t feel like a number. I am eternally grateful Katherine was the one representing me throughout the divorce process and highly recommend her to any woman ( or man) that is up against what will likely be the toughest season in their life. Thanks again Katherine!
